Senior Software Engineer (React / Node.js)

What you'll do:


Our client is looking for talented and experienced engineers to work alongside the VP of Engineering and form the foundation of our engineering team. You will work closely with Product, UX, and the rest of the Engineering team to build a brand-new product and be part of the journey of taking that product to market.


As a senior engineer, you will build web and mobile (iOS and Android) apps using Next.js, Expo (React Native), and Hasura. You will enjoy working as a full stack engineer, developing across the stack, defining data schema, writing serverless back-end functions, building UI in React, writing automated tests, and deploying your code.


Who you are:


You are proficient in Javascript (preferably Typescript).

You have experience building full-stack applications with React and Node.js.

You are comfortable with uncovering requirements and defining solutions without having

fully detailed specifications up front.

You have a solid understanding of SQL databases.

You are familiar with back-end concepts like API design (REST or GraphQL), database schema and migrations, event triggers, authentication, and authorization.

You have a quality-focused approach and recognize your role in owning the quality of your code and the product, especially at this stage.

You can thrive in a startup environment, where you are helping to define

coding & architectural patterns.

You thrive when given ownership and autonomy.

You take informed risks and are ambitious.


Bonus points for:


Experience with configuring and deploying to Cloud Services like AWS

Experience using Docker to build containerized applications

Working experience building automation and CI/CD pipelines
