An excellent special needs school in a village in South Derbyshire are looking to recruit a support worker to aid children with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) in a residential setting. This is an amazing opportunity to work in a welcoming, rewarding environment! The school is committed to full training opportunities including NAPPI and Level 3 Residential Childcare.

For this role, the successful candidate should have:

• Experience of working with vulnerable children or adults

• Experience of supporting Working with students with ASC, MLD, PMLD. SLD (desirable but not essential)

• Knowledge of supporting children with behaviours that challenge

• Be able to show reliance in challenging situations

• An enthusiastic and flexible approach to working

Most Importantly - a passion for supporting children with SEND!

The successful candidate would be required to work within small groups or on a 1:1 basis with students who require additional care. You will need to have a proactive approach to work and use show initiative and passion in your role. The students you work with will have varied needs including Autism and physical disabilities. The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff will be essential and candidates must be willing to support students with personal care.
