Senior Knowledge Analyst - Tech Strategy

As a Senior Knowledge Analyst (SKA) you will work together with project and proposal teams to help BCG clients build world-class Technology functions based on future-proof organizational and operating models. This also includes, for example, defining the IT or Tech strategy, transforming IT into a modern technology function, defining the collaboration and operating model for business and technology, or assessing the client's tech performance across multiple dimensions.

World Class Technology Function is a priority topic within BCG's Technology and Digital Advantage Practice, which is at the heart of the strategic impact we have with our clients.

As a Knowledge Team member, you will serve as thought partner and content expert to project teams and topic leaders (who are typically among BCG senior leadership), supporting them in their daily work and helping to solve complex issues. Most weeks you will support many different project teams work through their client's technology transformation challenges, other weeks you will go deeper at a single client, including working directly with client counterparts.

For a strong performing Senior Knowledge Analyst, there is also the option to transfer into our Client Focus career path later-on, which would bring opportunities to work even more on consulting projects with direct client interactions.

As a Senior Knowledge Analyst on the Topic Activation track at BCG, you will also drive development of intellectual property and knowledge assets to support our Technology and Digital business. You will actively support the commercialization of Technology Function related topics through working with business leaders to drive proposals and go-to-market efforts. Additionally, you will assist with on-boarding, training, and guiding junior colleagues - also sharing best practices within the team.


  • Solving client's strategic IT and Tech challenges through applying expertise, research, and analytical approaches
  • Providing synthesis and packaging of results (e.g., creating data models, conducting quantitative analysis, developing client-ready slides)
  • Framing, structuring, and sharing intellectual property, with the ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Working collaboratively and often virtually in a dynamic team, applying agile ways of working
  • Communicating and building relationships with stakeholders and peers to collaborate, grow, and contribute positively to team culture
  • Working creatively and analytically in a time-limited, problem-solving environment
  • Being able to navigate complexity and ambiguity


  • 1-2+ years of consulting experience in relevant IT or Technology management and/or strategy required; candidates with consulting experience preferred
  • In lieu of consulting experience, 2+ years minimum industry experience required; 3-6 years of industry experience strongly preferred
  • Expertise in IT/Tech strategies, organizations, operating models, and related transformations
  • Bachelor's Degree required (advanced degree valued)
  • Fluency in English
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholder while working in a global collaborative team environment


As a Senior Knowledge Analyst you will collaborate with global and regional topic leads and colleagues across BCG to bring expertise and capabilities to the service of our internal and external clients. The Knowledge Team (KT) is a group of functional and/or industry experts leveraging deep domain knowledge to enable insight for case teams and clients. KT members are affiliated to BCG Practice Areas, plugged into the strategic agenda and building and deploying leading edge IP data tools/assets to deliver insight.

BCG's Knowledge Team members have the opportunity to be staffed on cases and help co-create insights with case teams and clients through expert perspectives on industry trends, delivery of proprietary data or tools in a particular function and complex research and analysis of market information. KT members also support the PA's business development and proposals and help to organize and codify the knowledge that enables BCG to deliver superior business value for its clients.
