Project Engineer (Automotive) We are looking to fill a hybrid Project Engineer position for a niche high-end vehicle manufacturer in the West Sussex area. The company has a long and proud history of offering a bespoke and tailored service to individual customers, ensuring their requirements and vehicle specification needs are met. Due to continued demand for customized bespoke vehicles, a Project Engineer is required to join the organisations bespoke project engineering team and provide solutions and the delivery of mechanical and electrical applications. Project Engineer Benefits: £50,000 - £58.000 Bonus Pension Healthcare 37 Hours per week Hybrid Working (2 Days in the office) 33 Days Holidays (Inc Bank Hols) Excellent Reduced Rate Car Lease Scheme Immediate Start Project Engineer Duties: Be part of busy Project Engineering Group that are tasked to integrate new product and technologies into existing internal manufacturing systems To manage and carry out engineering activities including Researching Initial Concepts, Engineering Costing, Engineering Design, Risk Analysis, Test Planning and Validation, Project Planning and on time release of product parameters. Working closely with suppliers to ensure an effective delivery plan. Lead design and development of the bespoke components including the generation of Bills of material, Specification Documentation, Checking CAD Data and prepare information for Engineering System Release. Communicate with engineering stakeholders and agree the legal safety and parent group requirements a component or product must adhere to and ensure the component designs are integrated within the product packaging. Lead the Simultaneous Engineering Team for a commodity, carry out project management activities within the team of stakeholders from other functions and mediate any conflicts within the process chain. Managing and establishing tasks and requirements and assigning them to the correct stakeholders within the internal project engineering team. To financially evaluate bespoke features of engineering relevant budget costs and manage the budget in the feature sheet as the project develops. The creation and maintenance of the necessary risk analysis steps, including Risk Filters DFMEA s, and ensure associated legal, Safety & Group standards requirements are brought into DVP s, Specifications, and other engineering documents. To ensure requirements required for manufacture are implemented into the design and associated documents. Determine the required quality requirements from an engineering perspective working with design and quality functions. Validate the products to all homologation and legal regulation requirements. Project Engineer Requirements: Degree or equivalent in Automotive / Mechanical or Electrical Engineering A strong recent history of working in the Automotive Design or R&D Sectors A good knowledge of manufacturing processes Experience of managing projects and leading teams A good understanding of international automotive legislation and homologation requirements. Be familiar with Software and / or Hardware design and manufacturing processes, including schematics and PCBA Electronic Laboratory skills, including the use of scopes, signal generators, Vector CAN tool set.
