Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Operate SMT machines to manufacture circuit boards, including but not limited to SMT placement, reflow, and solder print. Supports the SMT department. The SMT Process Technician is proficient in the setup, operation and maintenance of SMT equipment and knowledgeable about the process of building Printed Circuit Board Assemblies. You are responsible for the successful implementation of SMT line process for new products as well as the continuous improvement of SMT processes for production board assemblies.
Troubleshoot SMT issues as they arise, and generally improve or optimize SMT processes
Create profiles for new builds and resolve reflow process problems
Create Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) programs for new builds, and update or optimize older programs
Review weekly SMT quality data to target recurring defects, find root cause and resolve
Document SMT issues found and send feedback to customers as necessary
Author process change orders
Provide screen printing process support
Write or update SMT related company work instructions
Maintain SMT stencil catalog
Maintain the Solder Paste Log
Perform machine Preventive Maintenance on SMT line equipment in accordance with PM procedures
Complete all forms, reports and documentation as required
Follow Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) procedures and maintain ESD controls

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High school diploma or GED and 1 to 5 years of experience as a SMT Process Technician, OR 5+ years as an advanced SMT Operator
Performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electro-mechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components. Drafts detailed drawings for fabrication. Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies. Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions. Assists with analyzing data and recommending modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
