SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, directs, and coordinates all activities related to development of software solutions. Familiar with all the policies, procedures and technical issues related to software development and adheres to required regulations. Manages software development projects. Supports custom developed software solutions and packaged software solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  1. Review, evaluate, and schedule work requests for IT applications staff.
  2. Plan, assign, supervise and review the work of Software Engineers in the design, development, implementation, modification, documentation, and maintenance of all software solutions.
  3. Actively collaborate with staff, management, vendors and suppliers to develop and design software solutions and supporting standards, methods, and infrastructure requirements.
  4. Coordinate with all of IT, as required, to determine root-cause, implement, and measure IT performance.
  5. Exhibit and foster a commitment to excellent customer service.
  6. Act as role model demonstrating how to effectively work with others to create and develop business value.
  7. Coordinate applicable budget and annual goal development for responsible areas. Accountable for estimation efforts and project plans for major project efforts.
  8. Work with leadership and legal to negotiate, review, obtain approvals, and facilitate payments for software contracts. This includes both new acquisitions and renewals.
  9. Work with staff to define, install and implement best practices and agreed upon standards, methods, measures, and practices. Aggressively pursue new and innovative ways to solve business and technical problems.
  10. Identify training needs of staff and develop means to meet those needs to support business objectives.
  11. Collaborate with IT Director and other IT management to set directions, goals, communicate results, and solve problems with a customer focus.
  12. Foster a team environment and demonstrate the ability to promote a team environment yet work on each person s skill development. Conduct individual performance reviews and manage career development of team members.
  13. Pursue a course of education to enhance and improve knowledge, skills, abilities and problem solving capacity.
  1. Other duties as assigned by management and/or executive team.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor s degree in business or computer science or combination of associate degree and progressive work experience can substitute.
  • Minimum six years of experience in business analysis and software engineering applications.
  • Demonstrated success in software development management and project management previously.
  • Demonstrated success in a supervisory role to a minimum of 3 people.
