Place of Performance: IW Clinic Campus, 96MDG, Eglin AFB FL

Period of Performance: One (1) base year with four (4) option years to follow

Schedule: Monday-Friday between the hours of 6:30 am to 05:30 pm for a minimum of 9 hours per day to include a one-hour (non-paid) lunch, maximum of 11 hours per day to include a one-hour (non-paid) lunch. The Physician may also be asked to work an occasional Saturday (such as conducting annual school/sports physicals or annual air show) as determined by the IW Clinic Medical Director

Position Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada
  • Successful completion of an internship and residency program (corresponding to the specialty Family Medicine required in the TO) which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association
  • Twenty-four (24) months of post-residency Family Medicine experience in the last 36 months
  • Possess and maintain an active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands
  • Drugs Enforcement Agency (DEA) Registration
  • Active BLS
  • Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry, and automated medical records
  • Compliance with preventive, prophylactic, and follow-up procedures, as well as infection control and employee health program procedures, as established by the MTF
  • A pre-employment physical examination prior to commencement of work and annually thereafter

Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF
  • Administer a comprehensive array of integrative medicine therapies to include, at a minimum, medical acupuncture treatments, and osteopathic manipulation techniques \
  • Direct, perform or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities
  • Examine, diagnose, treat, or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges
  • Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling
  • Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated
  • Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures, and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members
  • Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement. Attend regular patient-care meetings as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Documentation, to include, but not limited to timeliness, accuracy, content, and signature using only MTF and Air Force-approved abbreviations for documentation in the patient health records and follow the MTF s Do Not Use Abbreviation List
  • Complete medical records documentation within 72 business hours of the encounter with the patient
  • Use the proper coding of procedures and treatment and maintain coding accuracy (CPT/E&M/procedure) at the same standard, 90% or higher, as military, and civil service health care providers engaged in comparable work.
  • Provide full spectrum Family Medicine care encompassing outpatient services. Evaluation and treatment of emergent, urgent, and non-emergent patients ranging in age as young as newborns to over 65 years to include scheduled appointments, walk-ins to the clinic from the Emergency Department, walk-ins for specific diagnoses and telephone calls, and consults (such as pre-op)
  • Provide outpatient services for patients as scheduled by the MTF
