Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for two CAD Technicians. We are currently looking for two people to assist in the completion of a major federal project overseas. This work will be a minimum of four months and will consist of preparing as-built drawings to US Amry Corps of Engineers standards. The ability to relocate to Europe for four months is preferred but remote support from the US is also possible. US citizenship is required. A DoD Security Clearance is preferred but not required.

The CAD Technicians will report to the Senior Technicians who work on site and are leading the process of completing the as-built documentation. They will be provided AutoCAD drawings with .pdf mark-ups and will be responsible for revising the drawings to include the mark-ups. In some instances, only pdf drawings are available and conversion to functional .dwg files will be required.
  • Contribute towards a healthy, safe, environmentally sound and secure working environment, in the home office, on projects and during visits and periods on site or in other offices.
  • Provide discipline technical services to a standard and proficiency commensurate with Wood's Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Assurance (HSEQ) System
  • Execution of project work in a CAD Technician capacity
  • Understand the extent, methods and means of producing AutoCAD drawings to US Army Corp of Engineers standards
  • Provide technical skills and experience in the preparation, checking and fulfilment of drawings, diagrams and other deliverables
  • Advise line management of any health, safety, environmental, security or competency issues, including residual risks that are relevant to the office, proposals and projects
  • Ensure such documents are properly and consistently drafted, checked and Approved
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship within the project team
  • Represent Wood in a professional, conscientious and ethical manner with contractors


Skills / Qualifications

  • Experience in AutoCAD and ability to read hand-written redline drawing notes and translate them to AutoCAD as-builts.
  • Qualifications in electrical drafting is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity, experience and understanding of the requirements to create a layering system and drawing in keeping with US Army Corps of Engineers standards
  • Ability to work in a team or on an individual basis, while being able to achieve targets as necessary.
  • US Citizenship is required
  • The ability to relocate to Europe for four months is preferred but remote support from the US is also possible.
  • A DoD Security Clearance is preferred but not required.
